Laminated Steel Transformers and Inductors

Laminated steel transformers and inductors have a core formed by stacking thin steel sheets or laminations. These laminations are frequently in the shape of "E"s and "I"s, hence the common term "EI" lamination. Copper wire is wound into the form of coils, each having one or more windings. The core is stacked through the coil to form the complete transformer or inductor. These devices can be supplied for both single and three phase applications. Inductors are useful in both a-c and d-c circuits.

We can produce laminated steel isolation transformers with ratings from 100 va to 60 kva for 50/60 Hz, operation, autotransformers to 120 kva, and transformers for 400 Hz operation to 20 kva or more.
